If we were having coffee, I’d thank you for agreeing to meet me later than usual on Saturday. I fell asleep Friday at 10:20pm, woke at 6:30am Saturday, meandered to the bathroom and back, then slept until 11:20. 13 hours, which is what happens when you don’t introvert properly during the week. At least I won’t fall asleep in my tea. And I still have two more days to weekend. Ahhh. Let’s chat.

If we were having coffee, and you were cold, I’d offer you the extra sweatshirt I keep in the car (which is parked near the Starbucks where we’re meeting). After the heatwave this week (W.T.F.), it’s cold and damp today, so you might be chilled. I know I was, hence my sweatshirt. Shall I skip my usual black iced tea to avoid the chill? Of course not. Enigma.
If we were having coffee, I’d start by saying how thankful I am that it’s the weekend. This week was front-loaded with expected chaos (not of my choosing). Some materialized, some was thwarted, some canceled. Thank goodness weekends exist. I’m enjoying a black iced tea, as per usual. It’s my comfort drink. Let’s chat.
If we were having coffee, I’d apologize for still being tired. Last week, I said I was going to start moving forward on Monday. Then Monday came and I was again upsetting event-adjacent. I’m hoping my quota for such things for the year is almost met. It’s nice to see you, though, even if through bleary eyes. Let’s chat.
If we were having coffee, I’d reintroduce myself. It’s been three weeks. On April 15, I was Eastering and Mom Birthday-ing (two, two, two parties in one!). On April 22, I was emergency adjacent. I’m exhausted still this week, but I’m here. I’m on my second venti black iced tea and still could nod off. It’s not the company, I swear. … Let’s chat.
