#WeekendCoffeeShare: Lazy and Hazy

WCS Tea BagIf we were having coffee (and my tasty black iced tea), I’d tell you that it’s the time of year where not much happens. Lots of people on vacation, so work is weird. Lots of people out enjoying summer while I enjoy the indoors more. Lots of people getting ready to go back to school (I’m going to buy supplies, but only to happily feed my stationery addiction). That’s just August…

Let’s chat.

Week, in general: Twas just a week, you know? Let’s enjoy a plateau of normalness. … Although, I am slightly disturbed, after reading this article about a new Karate Kid series… WHAT? You know, wise people say you can’t go home again. Gilmore Girls proved that last year, and that show isn’t an iconic classic American film. My favorite part of the article: “…said Josh Heald (writer of Hot Tub Time Machine).” as if that movie isn’t an embarrassing credit to tout. Needless to say, I won’t be watching this new show, Cobra Kai. That… will not be shown… in this dojo. NO, SENSEI!

Weather: Condensation forms, dew on everything, including skin. Alternate: the sky squeezes every last drop of moisture from the clouds for hours. Either way: water, wetness, grossness abounds.

Treat of the week: Cracker Jacks. Delicious! But still with the same sucky baseball stickers they’ve called a prize for years now. I miss crappy plastic rings and teeny other objects o’ fun.

This week’s fun: I saw a rainbow! (See my Instagram #365Project.)

This week’s challenge: Lots of practice of zen-ness in the midst of others’ procrastination and chaos.

This week’s Bloggy Goodness:

  • Monday: Share Your World: Six.
  • … … That’s it. This summer slow down shall continue until the humidity lessens.

Other wise people have dubbed August the hazy lazy days of summer for a reason, people.

Until next time… (don’t bug me if I’m napping…) …  Peace.

  1. Hi Tara,
Your August sounds like January in Sydney. Everyone says Australia comes to a standstill in January. That is, unless you’re in the tourist industry or live in a tourist area. Our beach has largely fallen under the tourist radar, aside from a local tourist park on the other end of the beach, which doesn’t come anywhere near us. However, the word is getting out and numbers are increasing. I’ve heard tourists described as “locusts”. A lot of locals don’t want them around, although the local businesses do. I do prefer it quiet but expect to share the beach over the holiday season.
Our weather is running hot and cold at the moment. Well, not entirely warm yet but some sunny days. I’m really looking forward to Spring.
Hope you have a great week!
    xx Rowena

    • Hope Spring arrives sooner rather than later… and that Autumn gets here, like, pronto. August is sooooooo “let’s all sit around and do nothing….” Back to school shopping picking up, though. 🙂

  2. I think its all must summer not quite spring but winter is over in my neck of the woods…
    Cheers

  3. I haven’t had Cracker Jacks in soooooo long. Yeah, epic fails on the prizes.

  4. I’m beginning to think there are no original ideas left! Wasn’t Cobra Kai the rival dojo? So is the show supposed to be from the bad guy’s point of view? Oy vey!

    • Yes, Cobra Kai was the rival dojo. I’m not sure whose perspective it’s from, other than a wrong one. 🙂
